World War II changed
things…1942-46
The
No national JC meet was held in 1944. SoCal
Finals-1944-were held very early-April 14. Compton JC scored 101½ points to
second place
2-mile run11:18.6, LJ 20-9, HJ 5-6, Shot put 40-0, PV 11-3; The
annual Helms Hall of Fame Athlete of Year awards to CIF, JC athletes were
not given out in 1944. Records of our state JC star performers who served in
the war show 4-6 years of service.
